Woo Hoo! Baby Shower Card

Woo Hoo!

What Did I Use?

I made this card for my friends baby shower a few weeks back. I have wanted to use that cute little platypus for so long and finally got the chance. You like my bad distressing? I was going for a cloudy look and grassy knoll. It didn’t work lol, but I didn’t have time to start over and I hate wasting paper. But its ok the card is still really cute.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!

What did i use?

I made this card for my dad’s birthday coming up soon. Sometimes it’s hard to come up with masculine cards. This one is nature oriented, and the green and browns make it feel more masculine, even if there are butterflies on it J its still cute. Also I highly recommend the SEI brand papers, you can find them at Michaels. They have awesome themes and they are high quality paper. I love them.

I made the background for this card and it sat on my desk for literally weeks. I just didn’t like it, but I don’t waste anything so I saved it. Finally I decided to finish it. And I loved it. It is so sparkly and blue. Reminds me of the ocean. Kristina Werner is a wonderful crafter and I get a lot of inspiration from her.

Took a little break.

Had to take a small break from card sketch Saturday.

School started back for me after a small break so I really had to concentrate on that more then crafting. I haven’t even set foot in my craft room, sniff :,( ... But I’m going to try to catch up on the last two sketches this week, and if I cant, then I will have a new card sketch Saturday video up 8/11/12. What I will probably do is do the sketches and cards but not make full videos for them because the editing process takes the most time. So keep an eye out for new blog posts. I hope to get back in the swing of things soon.

Life is Good With You Around

Life is Good With You Around

What did i use?

This was the first card i made out of the new SSS card kit for august. I think it came out just way to cute.  I got my inspiration for layout from the pages of *My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 BE AMAZING Paper Pad. Their is a page that had a bicycle down in the corner and the idea for this just popped into my head instantly because of the wood veneer bicycle. I tried really hard not to stray from the kit, but the stamp set that was included just didnt have the right sentiment for where I was going with this card. Next card I do from the kit I will try my best to use a sentiment from the kit.

card sketch saturday

*** So I want to create a card series. I’m thinking "Card Sketch Saturday" this just came to me so if it’s taken I’m really sorry. I really like making cards off card sketches because I know its hard some times to come up with a little inspiration. Also this will give me to opportunity to make a video at least once a week. More on this soon :D ***

When I made this card I had my mom in mind. She loves unicorns and I thought this one just came out too cute and very dimensional. I have two layers of dimensionals on this card. Adorable but not mail friendly.

***I just wanted to note, I don’t link the paper I use for my card base because 99% of the time its recollections brand from Micheals. This particular one is the kraft paper they carry. It’s sturdy and cheep. I use it all the time. :) If I do use a different one I will try my best to link it if I can find it. I get the Simon Says Stamp card kit every month and I don’t necessarily know the brand of every layering paper that comes in it

*Lawn Fawn LOVE 'N BREAKFAST Clear Stamps

woo. I feel like I used a lot on this card even though its so simple. This lawn fawn set was one of the new ones I picked up. Just absolutely too cute. I love how all the objects have smiley faces J just gives the card so much personality.

What Did I Use?

On my most recent order form Simon Says Stamp I finally picked up my first sets of lawn fawn stamps. I had wanted some for a very long time. I got a few theme sets and a few critter sets. I have to say I’m in love with them. They are very high quality and stamp beautifully. So of course I had to play with them and what better way then to make a card. <3

This is just a simple card using a die cut from the silhouette studio store. The designs are just 27 cents because I have a subscription 99 cents normal. I love my silhouette to death. I don't know what I would do with out it. It’s a big investment up front but in the long run I feel like it has paid for its self. I get to pick every single design I purchase and don’t have to worry about not liking certain designs that may come on other brands of die cutting machines that take cartages. Also I can make my own designs. So cutting custom sentiments is a breeze.  I actually own very few punches and no dies to die cut. I feel like if I can force my self to not buy them I can get the most use out of my silhouette. Even though I have run across many dies and border punches that I want I have to pass them by. 15-20$ just doesn’t beat the 27cents I pay for a design.... that’s all I can tell my self. Any ways, sorry for the rant. Hope you enjoy my blog as much as I enjoy putting up post for ya’ll to read.

What did i use?

This card originally started out twice as long, but the banners were so short that it left a ton of empty space. I didn't know what to do with it, so last resort i chopped it in half. Came out cute. :D
